Just for the fun of it I wanted to enter the competition. But to challenge myself a bit, I decided to make the video entirely on my Nokia Lumia 1020. That wasn’t to hard, just had to grab some screen shots (+ a photo of the phone and the speaker) and put them together in Movie Maker 8.1 on the phone.
After a few minutes I was ready to upload the finished product to YouTube:
I didn’t think it should be so easy to do this, so I might try again and make more (and better!) videos on my Lumia. The combination of tools/apps, all on the phone, made it both fun and easy to to.
Note! As you can see in the video, it is very easy to pair a Windows Phone 8.1 (in this case, my over 1 year old Nokia Lumia 1020) with a NFC speaker. Just tap and play. Another cool thing is the Device Hub, from where you can pin devices (in this case: a Nokia MD-12) to your Windows Phone 8.1 start screen. That is pretty neat as you get information about the battery status of the speaker, and tapping the icon you’ll see what apps are able to use the connected unit. In this case, MixRadio and Spotify.
As a side note for my Apple-friends: Let us hope Apple wakes up and opens its NFC-solution on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to external devices as speakers.
I’ve been watching the hashtag #ConnectsChallenge, it is nice to see how creative and good some of the participants are. Good luck to them and me 🙂
